A professional pilot knows what is safe and what isn't safe.  Safety comes from good judgement and experience comes from using that good judgement.  The FAA cannot tell you what is safe.  You can use all the acronyms and check all the blanks which is a choice and if makes a person feel safer that's O.K. but when Murphy bites you in the AZZ it will make you guilty until you can prove yourself innocent.
