An airplane is quicker, carries more and is cheaper.  There is no requirement for a helicopter or an airplane that  is an absolute necessity for accomplishment or completion. Anything can be done without them.  It would just take more money , manpower and time.

A helicopter is slow, complicated, expensive and requires more skill in pilotage and maintenance.  So it will always be the backword child of the skies.

Less money, less time and more efficency will always win the race.  The favored child is always bestowed the greatest blessings.
