Message Military SAR--dug the missions but was not the kind who liked the waiting around, the rah-rah bull s h i t, and doing what I was told...so when I could split, I did. General charter was OK. But business was always slack, so no security. Did offshore specialty work--lightering tankers--but the operator was marginal, so moved on.
That brought me to HAA. Worked up from unaided VFR single to IFR/NVG twin and laugh pay to OK pay. Enjoy about one day out of seven, the rest are either like watching paint dry or boring milk runs. Stand alone is the way to go, I wouldn't last at a hospital, too many politics and you have to, like, talk to people. Would like to keep flying but no way out of HAA at this point. When I quit this job age discrimination will make it my last. Trying to find something to do to have a reason to get out of bed when it's over. Maybe I will.
