The more you feed the "flight crew" nonsense, the worse they get. They just want the cool flightsuits and unit patches, and supercool helmets with stickers on them.

They are MEDICAL personnel. They give advanced first aid treatment. No more, and no less. They know NOTHING about flight operations other than the LIMITED training they get regarding not walking into spinning objects. 

"flight crew smlight crew" just passengers with an unrelated job to perform.
