AMC couldn't get a relief/pool pilot to help the lead?  if that was the case, shame on the AM.  I worked a base like that as a relief pilot. Just me and the lead. Worked days only, shut the base down at night. It took about 6 weeks to get permanent pilots into the base. Fast forward 2 years, AMC lost the program to Black and Yellow. Problem solved.
