If someone wants to work at Starbucks, then let them work at Starbucks. $30/hr is OK money but that is probably the most you'll ever make. There is more potential money flying helicopters, even more flying fixed wing and a shed load more if you want to be a neurosurgeon. If someone is pulled away from their desire to fly by a $30/hr gig making coffee, then maybe they weren't cut out to be a professional pilot. I personally don't want anyone out there flying who isn't committed to the profession.
