That is completely untrue. The road to a renewed medical can be a long one, but it is not impossible. The last guy I knew who disclosed PTSD took about a year and a half working closely with a HIMS AME to get his initial Special Issuance. He maintained a Special Issuance for two years, but now qualifies for renewal of his med cert without the S.I. And you're not put on any no-fly list.
