Message Common sense is a relative thing. Every commercial company has approved and accepted procedurs when it comes to aircraft faults. Just follow the procedures. Common sense is a decision factor not a maintenance factor. If we just follow the rules and procedures we are going to be safer in the long run.
The whole design of RFMs, and limitations, rules and procedures are to protect us from applying common sense that is wrong. The scary part is it only takes one failure of "common sense" to kill you.
