I have trained, instructed, and evaluated pilots who thought they "knew and flew their aircraft like a glove."Some guys definelety knew a lot and flew well. Most don't know near as much as they think because they developed the feeling that once they felt like they learned something it was OK to stop reinforcing their knowledge.

I have never been around a trully professional pilot that doesn't recognize there is always more to learn. It is the height of arrogance to believe you know all there is to know and that your skills can't be improved. This attitude has been killing helicopter pilots and passengers since the beginning of commercial operations.

The RFM is the most valuable resource you have for the aircraft you fly. Instead of siiting on your thumbs crack open the RFM and learn something.
