depends on some specific things such as:

 

-topography i need to fly over to get to the destination. 

-location of LZ (Lee vs Windward)

-gust spread

-who I am flying (frequent fliers or head shed)

-what airframe i'm in

-how balsy i'm feeling

 

40-50 kts is my general purpose comfort zone. If it is higher it better be for a good reason. And yes, I think subjectively when making flight decisions. It is never black and white, no matter how much we, as an industry, push for it to be.
