you'll ever find a knee board that functions in all fashions you desire and need.  I gave up after 30 years of fiddling with the things getting annoyingly in the way of the collective or cyclic, however slight, and went to having the information I anticipated be at hand within comfortable reach.  

Whatever served that purpose for the type helicopter being flown worked for me another 21 years. 

It may indeed be a knee board but not one attached to your leg.
