Bristow flies S-92 helicopters in Norway and the UK Some North Sea offshore helicopter flights have been suspended following a fatal crash off the coast of Norway. One person was killed and five others taken to hospital after the Sikorsky S-92, operated by Bristow for the Norwegian firm Equinor, ditched into the sea near Bergen on Wednesday. CHC Helicopters - which serves Equinor's UK operations - suspended all its flights using S-92s until early on Thursday afternoon. The company confirmed it had postponed all flights using S-92s until 13:00 on Thursday. Bristow suspended its Thursday morning flights in Norway but said its UK services were operating normally. A spokesperson for the UK government's Air Accident Investigation Branch said it had offered assistance to the Norwegian Safety Investigation Authority. |
