Original Message on/off friction? Best not do that. IF you have a SAS actuator runaway in pitch or roll the rotor disc is going to move, hopefully not towards anyone walking under the disc, assuming such a runaway could lower the turning disc to head height. In my career I had one such even after landing, that, in 22K hours. Remote, but who wants to be in court over whacking someone with a rotor blade? Land, disengage stability systems, friction cyclic or have PNH hold cyclical centered, disembark/embark, reverse sequence, etc. |
