Ive been flying HAA since 2006 and am more than happy to have all

the help we have now. I've seen most of the things you mention and some you didn't; HTAWS, NVG's, single engine automation, TCAS, foreflight, satelite tracking, OCC's etc etc come to be the norm. Unfortunately we are really good at crashing aircraft and all this has largely come about as a result of those tragedies. 

Could I and did I do the job safely without it all? Sure! However, I'm more than happy to have the help. It's working smarter not harder. YMMV.
