Okay, let me ask this then. What is the difference between going 3 miles out of the way vs direct? 1 min? you think that extra 1 min saved or killed that patient?

What about when you are rushing to save that 1 min and you forget something on the checklist, or hit lines because you did something different than what you would normally do? You think that patient cared then? Probably not because now they are for sure dead, along with probably some or all of the crew.

Guaranteed that patient was pronounced dead 1 min after your med crew dropped them off. If they somehow, incredibly, survived; I can say with 1000% accuracy it was NOT that extra 1 min you saved that allowed them to survive. However, I also can say with 1000% accuracy you just put everyone on board that helicopter at more risk by taking patient condition into your decision making.
