Don't want to say "the funny thing is", because it is not funny and they were lucky there were no fatalities. Maybe I should say the irony behind this is that the pilot was able to keep his job because the Chief Pilot of REACH and this pilot were Marine squadron mates and the REACH Chief pilot supported and defended his Marine Squadron mate while having a history of firing other people not in "the club" for a lot less. With the Marines its who you blow and know, especially in companies like GMR that are top heavy with them.
