It is proven that redundant systems create a safer flight environment,  provided the training is adequate. On our dead legs home we worked on pilot redundancy. What good is it if the pilot is not redundant? I taught my crew the basics of flight and all of them were able to "land it" within reason. (Prob Bend a skid) but survivable. They were able to engage and disengage the autopilot. And finally all of them knew the MSA. But that was my philosophy only, the company would not engage in conversation with me about the utility of this schooling. Anyone else out there creating safety redundancies like this?

If you're wondering whether this is safe or not, don't sweat the small stuff, I was an Instructor Pilot for many years. BZ
