Some bases have pilots who are nice enough to figure out who wants to work which holiday and work it out amongst themselves. Others just suck it up and do their 6 or 7 years. Personally I offer to cover Christmas for pilots with families and have always been taken up on that offer. Be the change you want to see on the world and all that.
