The PTS outlines the ride. The poster who states you don't need to know the aircraft systems is wrong. Examiners are different but most that I have dealt with, especially if it is an FAA examiner, will expect a detailed knowledge of the aircraft systems, limitations, emergency procedures, and performance charts for the test aircraft.

There is no emphasis on the items covered on the written ATP test, other than airspace and airport operations. Of course a mjor part is instrument and flight operstions.
