Original Message OPEIU tried to sweep Check Airman into their Local 109 by default, but NMB declared them a separate Class and Craft of pilots, different from the line pilots. Check Airman are not facing an eleciton where OPEIU will seek representation of the separate Class and Craft of pilots. Be forewarned, however, OPEIU doesn't intend to let this separate/distinct Class and Craft of pilots have their own identity, with its own elected Board of Directors (President, VP, Secratary, Treasurer), or to allow them to keep their funds separate from the line pilot. Their intent is to ANNEX this completely separtate unique Class and Craft of pilots under LOCAL 109, where it will sit as committee under the main organization just like CareFlite Pilots are under PHI's Local 108. Demand, in writing, a separate Charter (Local) completely separate from Local 109 BEFORE you vote youselves into a complete mess!
