Nothing better than having someone conduct a "prescribed burn" with conditions marginal and have it escape.  Even worse is two years later another in a similar area being conducted and it escapes as well.  Makes it difficult to convince the residents of how beneficial "prescribed burns" are.  If there was a good outcome, no structures were lost on the second one.  

Having escaped and gone into suppression mode, tactics seem to go to the wayside.  If you are flying, you see a plethora of units watching "the show" or radio conversation fixated on meals.  Instead of improving lines overnight, having a unit or two "patrol" the perimeter.  The 0800 brief means getting personnel to the lines around 1000 only to get ready for lunch.  Can't be late for lunch so leave leave lines around 1030.  The list goes on.
