Original Message I hate to keep disparaging Robinsons because I know that's pretty much all you young kids have to train in but something is wrong. Any helicopter of this type that requires a "faux type rating" to fly and has as many accidents as it has should should have its Type Certificate re-evaluated and some changes made. Granted there were not as many of us but if we had crashed and killed or hurt as many people in B-47s, Hillers, early 206s and 500's the industry would have died. As pilots , I'm not saying we were better. What I am saying is we didn't have as many accidents because our equipment, even though some of it was junk, was stronger and better built. |
