I knew at 16 the money difference between helicopters and trying for the airlines but I like flying helicopters so thats what I went with.  I've been lucky enough to make decent money with helicopters and I have friends who went the fixed wing route and make a lot more than me but no one ever lied to me about what the future held in the regard.
