Betting all those helicopter pilots that transitioned to the airlines are wishing they stayed put.

They'll probably just transition to other airlines and if they desire go back to helicopters. Hopefully they and theirs will be alright.

Not tearing anyone down. Not like they are the fault of Spirit filing Chapter 11. Sometimes choices don’t work out the way we would like.

and I got $25,000 in pay increase and bonuses and not one person lost their job. Of course I'm still stuck at this low paying dump, though.

on Spirit Airlines? Seats remind me on the Off shore S76's PHI ships in the 80's!! No recline, arm rest, basically utility seats!! I paid $500+ to go to mothers service, (PHL-RSW) Soft drinks $3.49 or 3.99. Total POS airline. My mistake thinking it was better then AA ,United, Delta, Jet Blue. Yeah I'll stick to the Major's When I have to you use 14 CFR 121's .Never again or Frontier those POS! Hosed me when I had to cancel W/in 1Hr of making reservations!

I highly doubt that. Anybody with a heartbeat can get a helicopter EMS  job. In no time the airline will hire them again. They will be light years ahead financially either way.

So tell us what their loss was? You have more 3 am scene calls under your belt??

You’re a dumbass.

My point is bankruptcy protection doesn't mean they're going out of business.

I switched from helicopter to Fixed Wing nearly 10 years ago - While I do miss flying helicopters, I don't ever regret doing it for many reasons.

In the end, you have to do what works for you

You must not understand the world. They’ll get bought up, given new paint jobs and pilots will have jobs.

The void will be filled.

Some might, some might not. Seniority will determine who gets to stay on. Chapter 11 let's management do what they need to do to get back in the black.

but a least the former heli pilot gained a new work skill in the airline industry flying large jets - aka >12,500lbs.  Can almost always find a job in the helicopter industry these days.
