Okay, Bell 407 N84BL is owned by Helicopters Inc., which is obviously a Delaware holding company. I would guess that it's leased to some private guy who needed to drop some pax at JFK and was not familiar with the very confusing NYC airspace or the procedures involved in transiting it. He has probably already had a long, interesting talk with the federales, and we can bet that he'll be taking a ride with them as well. |

I started in NY before loran and was never confused, just hard to believe that with Garmin everything and everybody putting up there phones and all you, can be confused in NY area, airport towers are pretty tall and stick out, not to mention large flying objects overhead!! |

you were never confused because you paid attention to your work. Good on you. My first in NYC area was 1972 and last 2017. For sure the quip about a New York minute actually being one second in length applies to aviation in that area. Gotta know what you're doing and pay attention. Approach with trepidation and a lot of constant verifying, not matter how much experience you have with the area. |
