The same guys that were flying Robbies in the 80's were flying for the Army in the 70's. The ones that managed not to sling off their masts in 'Nam didn't have the same luck in the lighter Robbies. |

I worked all over the world in helicopters with many nationality of pilot. Found the best to talk a show were the British and they supplied a good show, the best at getting the job done the Vietnam veteran helicopter pilots, and, no, they were not cowboys at flying. They just understood a lot more than you might ever imagine. They were not extremely good talkers, just doers. They definitely get a bum rap even today. Don't deserve it at all. |
