Had to use short term disability for a medical issue and just found out they cap it at $1250.00 a week and tax it. Also geo modifiers and any extra pay is not included in your base pay. You will also be responsible for all medical, dental, life insurance, 401k, hsa and anything else that's left. So after taxes not much left over to live on. Guess it's better then nothing! |

If you are receiving any pension for mil service or civil service read before taking. Most deduct any gov pension benefits from the payment. Eg. if you get 60% they will deduct pension from that amount. |

Uhhhhhh.... Duh? That's partly one of the major reasons I hate that companies use geo-mods, extra pay, overtime, all that stuff as bargining chips to your "base pay." |
