Any of ya with experience of mutiple visors and the difference in shade/darkness level each one provides? Suggestions are appreciated. I can only compare 2 of these options and their light/darkness levels.

They are not all the same. The chrome is much darker than the jade.. sometime's too dark. Is there anyone WITH experience that can give their input? thanks |

If you're after looks go for it but I've never had a visor that scratched easier. The chrome was almost too dark and I prefer dark. it looked horrible after a month or two of doors off. If you even side eye it there would be a new scratch or mark. Traveling a lot and hanging out the door on take off and landing made me get rid of it after a summer and go back to the standard. |

Clear or Smoke. The only colors. I tried magenta and mauve, they just didn't feel right. |

Agree with above...tried the chrome and it was too dark for my liking. Good for bright sun on glacier/snow, but in overcast/flat light it was much too dark.
In the end, my favorite setup is standard dark grey visor. For ski season I wear sunglasses (also regular dark grey) and then in bright sun on glacier/snow I flip the visor down over the sunglasses and voila...instant glacier-glass-like-tint. If going from bright sun to shade on the glacier, flip the visor up and the sunglasses alone are adequate. If the light gets even more flat, then the sunglasses come off and the amber visor gets flipped down.

The best set-up is a dual visor with the outer visor clear and the inner visor tinted. You can wear your sunglasses inside the clear outer visor and put tinted visor in place when needed, for example landing into a rising or setting sun. Some visors/helmets fit very snug, difficult to put sunglasses on, even the straight temples when you're wearing your helmet.
I always wore the clear visor down, eye protection is important to a pilot. Opened the vents on a pool aircraft and got a face full of dust and sand once... |
