 Very interesting history of the 214ST. PJ Helicopter had a few but they seem to cost more the the USFS was willing to pay. I didnt ever fly one

PHI haD a  operating for  Motorola out of LFT on the tricycle gear. Had one on Morgan city too. 1985.

 My memory of PJH having two 214STs was around 2005 to around 2013. I was never involved in flying them and left PJ before they were sold then leased back from an operator In Australia.

Had a very cool Vietnam aged buddy who flew them in Afghanistan back around 2010-2015 I think and loved them dearly. He flew them again is southeast Asia islands last year for a defense contract and said it's still a great machine. They're still alive and kickin!

Evergreen operated several and eventually obtained the Type Certificate to suppport them. When Erickson bought Evergreen they received the authority and did some refurbs and then as business began drying up sold the STs to McDermott Aviation. They are now fire aircraft.  Flew them in Afghanistan, Africa and Philippines. Really good performers, but like any aircraft they have aging issues.
