Everytime they send me to a base that isn't in the middle of no where and in a decent area, it's becomes immediately apparent why they can't keep pilots. Strangely, it's alway the pilot's fault. This job pays a crap ton, but it has to. |

I worked 7 days of OT last year and made 180k with per diem. A good 50k more than most base pilots. I also didn't pay one cent out of pocket getting to work. If you want OT, 200k+ is easily attainable. |

Fly fixed wing and make that cash in far less time and ironically probably home more. Fly HAA, Pool, Local Relief guy, with a 9/5 schedule or worse, away from home, no life really..... But, Hay I made 150K-200K this year! Or if your really lucky and you work for one of the few companies that pays good, you make between 110-140K as a line pilot and live local. Few and far between. The other options, which I see a lot. Work two jobs, HAA and News. HAA, and Painter, HAA and Retired Military. HAA and National Guard/Reserve. Thats how you make a great living in HAA. Sad but True |
