I knew a guy that flew a 500 with a 70 tailwind, coming in a couple hours after the eye of a hurricane Andrew had passed riding the outer bands.
I shot an ILS for my instrument helicopter rating with a 35 knot crosswind in an R 22 instrument trainer. that was kind of fun. I think I had about a 45° crab. it was the only day available for my check ride, and the only ILS available to me, we made it work. |
