back in the good old days meds crews never hesitated for a second when it was 50 knots. any pilot that goes up in 50 is a complete idiot

are associated with starting and stopping the rotor and directional control at a hover.  If the wind is off the nose, your wind limit is Vne.

Those of us that regularly fly in the mountains have learned to deal with high winds, which is why we get paid more.

Don't quit your job, man.  Stick with helipads on hospitals.

you take off and land a lot in the mountains for the same pay as everybody else and I think ems helicopters land in the mountains too bro but not sure

"Real pilot stuff" is a matter of understanding how to apply go/no-go realities in accordance with power available and techniques required for the operation at hand.  Applies everywhere, not just mountains, especially if the helicopter is used in fully committed commercial ops.  You know it's true.
