But I only passed on the news report I read.  I deduced something nefarious simply from the report that the cartel members were filming the mishap as it happened and were laughing throughout the event. That doesn't mean it is any type of confirmed determination.

As far as LTE, with over 4K hours in nearly every BK, to include the H models, I don't see it.  Certainly could be a drive failure, but who knows?  Do you? It sounds as though you have concrete information, so share it here with all of us so we know the cause.

What is it with some people on this forum when they have a different viewpoint than another, rather than presenting a rational counter-point and having a constructive debate and information exchange, they start immediately with attempts to ridicule, insult, or degrade others?

Jumping to small arms fire because it's unimaginable to you that the pilots could have just sucked or at the very least some kind of driveshift or single engine failure is delusion not a different viewpoint. Equivalent to me saying it was a stray meteorite that took out the crew, can you prove that wrong?

The only viewpoint you see is yours.  These are theories for provoking thoughtful discussion only.  I never declared "small arms fire" brought the aircraft down.  I deliberately placed a question mark in the header...Used for curious of thought discussion.

Now, both pilots could have been over their heads in the control of the machine.  However, me or anyone else here would give the crew the benefit of doubt. Most of us are trained and evaluated to the same standard.  

As far as a single engine failure, I never inferred that narrative.  

But you are correct...I can not prove you wrong in that a meteor did impact the aircraft...

You said "my bet is small arms fire" after saying LTE wasn't likely because you flew it for 4k hours like that means something in this situation. Obviously some kind of failure didn't cross your mind because you jumped right to small arms fire just because there was a cartel video from miles away that you apparently hadn't even watched because you weren't sure when the video even took place. Your theory has no potential for "thoughtful discussion" because there is no thought nor evidence behind it.

For more "thoughtful discussion" my best is that the CBP agent on board was on cartel payroll and purposefully brought the helicopter down to keep his friends across the borde safe.

They've edited out the crash. The video only shows the OGE hover before the accident and then the smoke afterwards. They guys sound like they're shocked, not laughing like reports said.

The damage looks, to me, as bad or worse than the LUH at Rucker that managed to get both throttles to idle at a 250' AGL hover. I don't think it would be that bad with a single engine failure and only 4SOB.
