from a friend, I'm no longer flying but found this interesting

From United hiring:  “We wanted to let you know that United will slow the pace of pilot hires this year due to continued new aircraft certification and manufacturing delays at Boeing. This includes the pause of new hire classes during the months of May and June. We expect to resume these classes in July. United Aviate and United Military Pilot Program participants remain a top hiring priority."

Southwest did the same. I'm glad I jumped when I did. Part 121 is not for everyone, but I'll take the money, days off, no drama, hot coffee brought to me in a regular cup, a nice poop shed right behind the cockpit, mostly nice hotels, usually 3 or 4 days on and three off (it varies), hand fly when I want ( it's not all autopilot like everyone thinks), and travel benefits for life. I really liked offshore and over water flying but this is a whole lot better.

if you call the lav a poop shed you're probably just some guy sitting in the back. nobody and I mean nobody that ever worked offshore said even one time they "enjoyed over water flying" lol

Ha. United can't fill a class schedule. Seems even DEI crowd is smart enough to know they can't be pilots.
