Trying to make sense of the way to track cycles manually on the EC145C. Why did they make it so confusing? Hopefully the D model has something similiar to the EC135.

Manual fuel control vs FADEC. No brain box on C2 to count cycles. Cycle counting available as an STC.

N1(Takeoffs/Start x .7) + (Landings x 0.1)

N2(Starts x 1.0) + (Fly/Idle/Fly x 0.4)

Old school turbomecca, calc N2, N1 is half.

If you're doing math like that (With 0.7 being your number) you are WAY off on your N1. Have you ever looked at the chart? Have you ever looked at what your actual N1 is when pulling power? Also landings are .15 not .1

They tried to let the aircraft count for you but it ended up inaccurate so an AD came out to stop using the counters. They'd rather inaccurate counts from the pilot instead.

The D model makes it much easier. You only record the total ending instead of doing math because they know we're dumb.

The C model is difficult because it was translated from German to French to English. Very difficult to please all...
