Looking at different companies with multiple openings, how come some have been opened for more than 30 days and some more than a year?

Is it just location? Pay for that location? Base culture keeping people away because its toxic?

The big players seem to have some bases that just can't stay filled or never get filled.

PHI offering 75K Sign On bonus and still can't find people, 40-50K for Med trans, etc.

Why just pay a good wage and keep the base staffed.

Just completing one flight will pay for that little bit you have to pay more.

Never really talked about on here.  Is Stat a good company and flies under the radar?

Stat is a great company. Good aircraft to fly, IFR approaches into almost all off of their bases and hospitals, very busy. Don't go there if you're looking for a program where there's minimal flying. Pay could be better but it's not the worst anymore. Starting probably just over $100,000.

How does having a MBA make you better at business?

How does it make you better at understanding the in's and out's of aviation.

If supply and demand worked like it should, pay and benefits should be getting better in this sector.

But they are not, they as lagging behind greatly.

In California minimum wage is 20 dollars and hour.

So with your MBA, please explain to me how a person doing a minimum wage job with little to no skills should make what a HAA pilot only made a few short years ago.

How has the greater degree of education and skills, responsibility, danger to ones life, etc.

Enlighten Me, Please

doesn't mean your qualified...some don't have the Required time to fly and others wash out of training or fail their checkride....usually Float positions are a On-going always advertised position...HEMS is easy money compared to anything else flying Helo's..FACT....easy money....30 days you won't fill any job...the jobs aren't usually taken down until a letter of Committment is signed or they pass their training....and PHI doesn't offer a $75k Sign on....its $50k.....ITS A STIPEND...and after 3yrs your pay will go down....its not a true Sign on....and do your research....just because it is a high sign on, doesn't mean it is a good company to work for.

I make $50 with accra and experience bonus. you'd have to go back a lot longer than a "few short years" to a time when an ems pilot made 35k. why do you ask such dumb questions.

This is where Marx answers your questions regarding the economics of your pay. Marx got class struggle right. He didn't get the rest right though.

EMS jobs used to be coveted, especially in your hometown/state. The industry has many options today that didn't exist 20 years ago. Now. Instead of 200 bases around the country you have 1000. Add the airline effect, we now have the perfect storm. My organization refuses to pay one dime above the competition, so there's no real reason to look here. If you can make the same money as everywhere else and live in a warm climate that's where the migration's going.

I tell everyone under 50 to go fixed wing. The long term income is 3x and you don't sit all day growing old.

Because the government is giving money to medical companies and others to inflate job numbers. Remember the fake transportation shortage? Same thing in medical. So... lots of money to companies to fill jobs. So... big sign on bonuses; little wage movement and lots of recruitment for jobs that don't really exist to pump up numbers to show a shortage.

Recruiters are the gatekeepers for these operations and if you don't walk their fine line of lunacy then you are put on the no-fly list forever. And the only way to get a second chance is if they either leave or die. Go ahead, delete... Honesty is rarely welcomed here anyway..

by all the recruiters to be put on some kind of no hire list. I'm sure you're a swell guy but have been unfairly labeled a nut job.
