Have you seen heli pilots lat move into? Thanks. This industry lost its luster long time ago. Time for a move🥱.

If you're not a fixed wing ATP, you may want to look into Uber or Lyft as a career change. Step up in pay and you can drive any hours you choose.

I and two others I know have bought earth equipment. I clear about $3,000 a month with a Kubota B-26 after expenses.

Pretty easy to find one day jobs for it. Not a career but  I usually only dig 3 days of my 21 off cycle.

A commercial earth moving business with A garden tractor ?  It would be light enough making a CDL not required. Landscaping could pay good, but that's not real earth moving.

FAA is hiring Air Traffic Controllers if you can cut the mustard! Being a Pilot is considered experience if you can pass the test! Controllers at most of the bigger facilities can make over $200,000 a year for a 40 hour week! However it is shift work with a different shift every day. Great retirement and benefits!

You're assuming that the original poster is less than 35 years old. I really wish the FAA would get rid of the stupid age limit for controllers. I would love to go do that instead of flying.

careful what u wish for.  It's incredibly easy to accumulate 3 screwups and wind up unemployed, aka fired.

I have a heli friend that bought a mini-van and transports illegals to San Antonio, Houston, and Dallas for good money, all tax free.

FAA, NTSB, DOT, all those lettered government offices have jobs that pilots fit well with. Don't forget the state level offices. You could also do Dispatching for corporate or airlines, managment, company operations, training. There are a lot of possibilities, you just have to think outside the box.

Damn is that artical full of crap. There are no poles 180 feet tall. Few steel structures are that tall.  Apprentice linemen out of school make about $50K

Maybe try a different type of flying ? Utiliy ?  I found that switching mission types every few years kept things interesting. Also an off season diversion helped.
