There are enough hungry pilots out there willing to pay out of their pocket to work for a company. Or since some of the bigger oil and gas companies are down there it would just be a commute for them. That's the downfall PHI is there a lack of housing they provide. They're never gonna catch up to what the industry is doing. Even the oil and gas side provides housing for 14 on 14 off |

It will be filled because it is a "feeder base." Ft. Rucker is 44 miles away. They will get someone from there to take the job then transfer out after a year or so to a base they really want to be at. I worked Laredo and Tucumcari for AMC and it was a revolving door of pilots leaving after one year to other bases. Or, put a mobile home there and call it pilot housing and staff it 14/14. I believe that's what PHI did(without the mobile home) in Tucumcari when they acquired the contract from AMC. |

Question is can they get mechanics that have a clue what the're doing and I if so pay wages that reflect that experience and skill set. Also be nice to provide housing too. |
