True 401K contributio. No evaluations like the Pilots. Annual tool allowance. Competitive wages compared to equivalent airline of similar size. Reimbursement to all the mechanics whos pay has been frozen since the 360. Get rid of the AMBS who think they run maintenance at some locations. Shorter top out pay chart.

Also need all the haters to get out of the way so we can better support our families. If you're against the Union then obviously you don't care about making things better for everyone. Pull your head out of managements Ass!!!

Making the 401 6% a definite would be great, sure.

Tool Allowance? Been looked at several times over the years, reason for not happening sounded plausible. Never had any employer prior give one either.

Eval's?  Mean nothing. At best the union might be able to get it... maybe it'll go away on it's own.So worth paying Dues for...

Get rid of AMBS?  By a Mechanics union? We're not getting the Wizard of Oz here, Dorothy..

360 backpay? That'd be lovely.. never happen though, and you don't think a union wouldn't want a slice of that?

Haters?  You mean individuals that think for themselves and know the door swings both ways?

For themselves don't have the power to change anything but for themselves by leaving. PHI Health is a perfect example of why unions came to be. Companies that value their employees take care of their employees and unions aren't needed. Unfortunately PHI Health's actions the last several years, especially towards mechanics, have changed them from one of the greatest companies to work for to one of the worst. Lots of 20 plus year mechanics out there would love to see it turn around and without someone representing us mechanics it never will.

The idea the mechanic could get 6% 401k and not the rest of the company is laughable. It would be bt far the biggest expense the company would have. Never going to happen. As far as tool allowance at one time era offered 250$ a tear for tools. While this would be nice it doesn't really matter. I'm not sure about the evals are you asking for evaluation or saying we shouldn't have evaluation either way I doubt that matters much anyway.

And 6 percent 401k match for starters. The rest just puts us in line with the pilots.

Phi pilots red hat strike, LOCO 407, Loco 107. They are playing checkers at a chess tournament. Same failures from the Loco 407 trying to stir this up.

was a success. We have reaped the benefits for many years after. AMC has a decent contract. Denying reality won't help you.

Pilots who went on strike let go by PHI

02:33 PM CDT on Thursday, September 21, 2006

Jason Whitely's Sept. 20 11 News Report

PHI sent letters to several hundred of its striking helicopter pilots essentially firing them Thursday, one day after they started picketing.

The pilots went on strike early Wednesday morning.

The Lafayette, La., based company company, which flies rig workers off shore and operates five air ambulances in the Houston area, would not comment Thursday afternoon.

Allan Duquette, a PHI pilot for 30 years, told 11 News he received his severance notice Thursday morning in a letter from FedEx which said, “Because you are engaging in a strike activity, you are being permanently replaced.” The letter said final paychecks would be mailed within three business days.

Duquette was one of a dozen pilots who picketed outside Galveston’s Scholes Field on Wednesday. Nationwide, the pilots union said more than 200 pilots went on strike early Wednesday morning.

Pilots said they have not had a contract in more than two-and-a-half years. Among other things, pilots want to work less overtime and request a pay raise.

“Guys need time off to be with their families. Having a vacation and then not being able to take it and then lose it. That is an issue that needs to be addressed,” Duquette told 11 News Wednesday.

PHI downplayed the strike. A statement released Wednesday it said the company had “implemented an industry-leading compensation package for its pilots which is above its main competitors.”

PHI’s statement also minimized the work stoppage saying that only “approximately 25 percent of the company’s pilot workforce participated in this action.”

Striking pilots said the number is much higher.

“Their Gulf of Mexico operations are shut down,” said Bill Lurye, attorney for Local 108, which represents the pilots. He said the union notified the company early this morning “that it’s in violation of the law,” by attempting to permanently replace the pilots.

Lurye said the union is currently considering its legal options.

PHI has a few helicopters flying during this work stoppage. They’re piloted by managers and flight instructors.

Of its five air ambulances in the Greater Houston area, only two are flying Thursday. One in La Porte. A second in Conroe.

PHI’s medical helicopter in Richmond is reportedly tied down on a secondary helipad outside Oakbend Medical Center. Its crew is gone.

LifeFlight is expected to pick up any additional emergencies.

Other offshore helicopters and crew boats are expected to ferry rig and platform workers back and forth to the Gulf of Mexico.

Energy experts doubt this work stoppage will impact petroleum prices.
