With programs like Sky Bridge, the good old helicopter industry is back.

Lean heavy on military pilots who don't understand their value, pay peanuts, rely on your retirement.

Yep, this industry and its pilots wont ever learn.

Yep, we are all hero's, flying patients that don't need to be flown.

I wonder if in a a theater of combat would we just fly around willy nilly to move non essential personal to area that don't do anything....oh wait that happens all the time.

Just like AMC, Metro etc... getting that government cheese and abusing the tax payers while laughing all the way to the bank.

Yet starting pay for EMS is still 75-94K.....lol

Our fixed wing brothers are laughing all the way to the bank.

for unions being formed to represent the airline pilots there'd be the same experience in that line of work.

Reason it came to fruition is because each airline had very few centers of operation where pilots could gather to express 'solidarity', aka give us what we want or else.  That will never happen in the helicopter industry due to many many small bases and no way to, so to say, enforce, solidarity.

Not really a lack of intelligence in the RW community, just the dynamics of geography that disallow the reality of pilots doing what they need to do to stay together on topics, union demands, etc.

Solve this problem and the industry may have a chance, otherwise, nah, no hope.
