LOSA (Line Operations Safety Audit) at PHI, what a joke. Sounds like govt. FISA abuse to me. 

Spying on the pilots all under the guise of safety. This wil only be for 30 days, YEAH RIGHT!!

"There will be no attempt to identify the crew or base in the recordings. In the event a pilot, crew member, or base is inadvertently recognized by the auditor, the information will not be noted or logged." -uh huh ok got it

"Principle of Immunity: Just as there will be no attempt to identify crew members in the recordings there will be no effort to contact, correct, or apply discipline for observed instances of mistakes or non-compliance." -ok perfect sounds good

THIS IS A BAD IDEA. 

Follow your Ops Manual, don't do anything wrong, and fly it the way they pay you to fly it.  No issues.

Nope, not management.  Line pilot.  What exactly is it that you want to do in THEIR aircraft that you're afraid they'll call you out on?  

Let's suppose you are considering transitioning and are looking for encouragement and positive reinforcement from your co-pilot. This would be a very personal and private conversation. Management doesn't need to know this until you are ready to tell them.

You realize PHI has the LAMPS system in the A/C for a reason correct?

Its for monitoring A/C performance and flight profiles....some of which will get flagged and you can expect a call when certain parameters are met or exceeded. Perfectly reasonible.

But to monitor any flight just because you feel the need to spy on your staff seems like an over-reach and you may put undo stress on an already anxious pilot afraid of exceeding a rate of descent or bank angle. It's just not a good idea. Have some faith in those doing the right things and have discussions with those having LAMPS exceedances.

I think it also gets involved in CRM during critical phases of flight. Not necessarily to ding the pilot but also to monitor and call out the nurse that's texting her bf (not scanning and doing her part )about the pos ex that is spending money on his hot gf he dumped you for instead of cleats for junior.  For the record junior hates softball and quit using that an excuse to tell everyone you're a FN at the ball field.  Your 98k mile BMW that you owe out the azz for is gonna get expensive when your extended warranty expires.  Maybe a versa or altima suits you better!!

Its a paradox for me.  I miss the flying and Friends but I'm glad I'm out of the industry.  Its become nothing but more Millennial Madness combined by the social (ist) elements.

I enjoy the friends and flying, but I do have to work with a bunch of old pilots who don't understand foreflight and how to operate an ipad. (Not that anyone asked)
