Airbus Helicopters and PHI Group (PHI) have signed a framework agreement that includes commitments for 20 super-medium H175 helicopters and 8 H160s to serve the energy market worldwide, including in the US. These 28 state-of-the-art helicopters will better position PHI to respond to the energy market’s expected growing offshore transportation needs. These commitments are composed of firm orders as well as purchase options that PHI may exercise during the course of the framework agreement. From visiting the web-site I was of the opinion that PHI was on the way out. Seems I was wrong.

I'll believe it when I see it.  It's the OG side which has more $$$.  AIR MED SIDE won't see any new aircraft.  I would believe these are a SHELL BP contract with money upfront

Those Aircraft are booked marked for the oil and gas side, not the air medical side. The oil and gas side has nothing to do or even does business with the air medical side anymore two separate companies.  I agree with above that these aircradt are probably to get rid of the AW139 they have and older S76 birds. pruvably for a Shell Contract

PHI  will use this press release to help land some contracts with 'brand new state-of-the-art' promises. Damn few will ever see new machines. What PHI bought was delivery slots which will be sold at profit to anyone. The 2-3 new machines will only appear with oil company executives want a ride.

"respond to the energy market’s expected growing offshore transportation needs"

Have these people any idea of the current socialist agenda for oil (and modern civilization)? Nobody is going to be flying offshore drilling for batteries with the suicide squad running America and Europe.

You guys don't seem to realize that PHI is three companies, Americas, AMG and International. The H175 is not certified in the US and is only for the International market. If you read the TCDS for the H160, you will see the it is not eligible for an airworthiness certificate. It will get certified one day, but who knows when.

PHI has 3-4 different business units but it's one company. The H160 got FAA approval in June.

I did my homework, most of you only read the press release. The type certificate, R00009RD, for the H160B that was issued 6/30/2023 applies to aircraft S/N 1002 ONLY. This is not one of the aircraft that PHI purchased. The last line of the TCDS states that the H160 is not eligible for a Certificate of Airworthiness. Without that certificate, an H160 can not be listed on an AOC's ops specs. The press release is true that the type certificate was granted, but it was good for one day and useless for any American operator.
