The are a tax funded operation with a commerical Part 135 certificate that "competes" as a commercial air carrier but who has complete governmental m0nopoly powers.
Fair competition?
Already, the leaders in the community are calling (lobbyng) for the government to pass a law for it's employees to get a bigger tax funded pension as a result of this accident.
Imagine Med-Trans, AMC, PHI, Metro calling for the tax base to fund higher pensions and death benefits payouts. I get it, but these are government officials here, working in a system that m0nopolized HAA operations in their county but who also have a Part 135 certificate to be a commercial operator in compentiton with other Part 135 ccommercial operators.
Clearly an unfair competitive advantage granted to them by their public status!
They should be like Miami-Dade and be a pure public operation since TAX PAYERS are finding their entire costs and them billing insurance is pure gravy. |
