Nothing. Takes 10-15 seconds for the engine to deplete the fuel in the lines, and if he would have cut it off, it may have helped instead of throwing that many seconds of fuel into the burning fire. That's all it took. Poor judgement. |

Procedures for fire bottles installed:
FIRE IN FLIGHT 1. OEI flight condition – Establish 2. Respective EMER OFF sw – Open switch guard, press and release NOTE Respective engine will be automatically cut off, “ACTIVE” will illuminate on the EMER OFF SW panel and F VALVE CL will illuminate on the CAD. Respective BOT1/BOT2 pb will illuminate. 3. Clock – Start 4. BOT 1/BOT 2 pb – Press to activate respective bottle; EXT comes on EMER OFF SW panel NOTE The bottle will only be discharged if N1t 50%. When the bottle has been discharged, respective BOT and EXT caution goes off. 5. Affected engine – Identify 6. Single engine emergency shutdown – Perform 7. LAND AS SOON AS POSSIBLE If FIRE warning is still on after 1 minute: 8. BOT 1/BOT 2 pb – Press to activate bottle 2; EXT comes on EMER OFF SW panel If FIRE warning is still on: 9. LAND IMMEDIATELY NOTE For safety reasons alert and evacuate the passengers as soon as possible. |
