Yes you can obtain a medical. Provide you the state you reside in has legalized weed and your AME's practice is also within the same state. I suggest you review Part 67 of the FARs. |

Just read part 67. Failed drug test or refusal to take one is grounds for denial. You can smoke weed just don't get hit for a drug test. If you use it and get caught jail or fine. So no you can't. Does not matter where you live. Whomever said that is an idiot. |

my buddy leroy knows a pilot that failed a random and his boss called the cops and they went to his house because he was off and the cops hauled hisass to jail and he was charged with failing a random drug test and they judge gave him a big fine and 10 years at big sandy too. true story lol |

B. Any event in the airman’s lifetime that has not yet been cleared by the FAA and given an eligibility letter: Submit the following for FAA review: Airman statement that describes all the following: 1. Primary drug used. 2. Any additional drugs/substances used in the airman’s lifetime (This includes marijuana even if allowed in some states, illicit drugs, prescription medications, or others). 3. Describe for each: a) Frequency of use; b) Amount used; c) Setting in which used; and d) Dates use started and stopped. 4. Did you attend any treatment program(s)? If yes, provide beginning and end dates. If no, this should be stated. 5. Any economic, legal problems, or other adverse consequences from use? DEFER Submit the information to the FAA for review. Follow-up Issuance will be per the airman’s authorization letter. Schedule I drugs, substances, or chemicals are defined as drugs with no currently accepted medical use and a high potential for abuse. Some examples of Schedule I drugs are: heroin, lysergic acid diethylamide (LSD), marijuana (cannabis), 3,4-methylenedioxymethamphetamine (ecstasy), methaqualone, and peyote. Any pilot on this forum really want a dopehead in the air??? |
