I truly wonder if the union has pointed out that people will be jumping ship after the payout if there is not a new contract after the October negotiations. I'm guessing they loose at least another 30+ pilots

Bragging about beating the OPEIU is like bragging about beating up a kid in a wheelchair. totaly expected, not really hard to do, and you feel a little guilty when its over. They do most of the work for you. #LOCO407&107 #PlugKing

Negotiations have a long way to go,,so my best guess is that another retention deal will be put in place , probably same deal as before for another year.

from the mouth of the mouth:

Both parties were all able to move past those issues and the events of that session and we are pleased to report that we have reached TA’s or agreed to go back to current book language on many items.

Yes, since April, when it was declared basically old CBA sections were TA (with minor clerical changes) and that few bigger issues were left to be negotiated still.   And, nothing has changed since!   Meaning, nothing has changed since starting the bargaining process, except for a few clerical changes.  You are a year + into this and  you are essentially "back to book" (i.e., you've made no real bargaining progress)

It might be fun to pretend differently, and place youself on a pedestal to feed your ego, but either you've gotten nowhere -OR- you made zero progress.

With the keyword being "OR" here!

think the contract not being settled is such a big deal. What if there was no bonus in November. Would pilots still quit? I don't see a strike in the future. I've gotten 20% in pay increases since I started 16 months ago and now they're giving me 15K. Why the hell would I quit?

maybe True but based on recent increases  in the industry for those that prefer helicopter ops, but the incentive  to grow and maintain Pilot population.  it's a long term play for bean counters.  I don't think  many will jump ship over $15k In the short term, but it may influence the long term commitment and morale of many that may not be willing to do more than bare minimum, which if you ask most Pilots, they have already settled in to just collecting pay check.
