Met a coast guard guy who bragged about getting 30% for ptsd. It was a bogus claim and he admitted it. I was in a hiring class so I didn't whoop his behind, but he will be blacklisted to me and anyone I know who values my opinion.

These weasels are faking the funk. Real vets with a rating don't brag or talk much about it with non vets

with integrity like me

suffer with the pain daily from slamming big ECM transmitters up overhead in the winggloves of B-1 Bombers and never claimed a cent.

My back is destroyed.

They take all the smart nerds who can actually troubleshoot the system and don't give them any meat heads to work with.  THen expect the same nerds to slam 200 plus pound boxes over their heads while the scrawniest one turns the speed handle.  Genius.

Worst job in the AF, we all have back problems an hearing loss.  I never filed for $#!+, cuz my daddy taught me how to suck it up and deal with it like a man.  All these Puzzies filing disablity for ptsd and what not.....Puzzies.

Nothing to brag about...the Army broke me and now they pay me for my constant pain. If you don't want to file a claim because of your ego thats on you. You probably feel like your overpaid in your EMS job too.

There was a story a few years ago about a female sailor who worked in the mailroom on an aircraft carrier and applied for, and was granted disability for PTSD. She claimed knowing the aircraft that were taking off the ship were heading out to kill people caused her to have nightmares. PTSD is completely out of control!

The generosity of the VA changes with time. One political party is always looking for handouts, the other party not so much.  The "tax free" part of the benefit, is almost enough for me to swallow my pride and jump on the bandwagon.

Why do you disagree with concurrent receipt? Someone who served 2 years with the military and gets discharged with a disability, then mows lawns in Washington for 30 years for the federal government, then retires gets both federal retirement and disability in full. Why should a soldier who retires after 30 years and is awarded a disability be penalized and not the lawn mower?
