You're right powerline patrol is extremely easy. Powerline, Tower repair and and stringing new lines borders on insanity. Thank you to the Pilots that do this work I like air conditioning! |

I was always told patrol was the most dangerous part of powerline work. I would say this is correct. |

43 documented accidents and 53 fatalities in turbine engine powerline patrol in the past 38 years in the US alone. 40 of 53 fatalities were wirestrike accidents. Easy yes... sort of. I hope you had patrol training, as well as CRM training. It is hard to keep your guard up when the enviroment seems so harmless but if you let it down its deadly. |
