So it looks like a lot of us are getting our medicals pulled for lying about disabilities. Is this going to hit the fixed side as hard as the rotor side? |

if you have a disability and they ask...you answer yes....IF you don't check the box or when asked, then YES they will jam you up because, well your lying...LOL.....Depending on what your diability is, they will look into it...NOT everyone who has a VA rating is getting it pulled.....just specific elements or Disabilities

From what I have seen/heard it is the ones who are claiming 100% disability and not reporting it on the FAA examination paperwork that they are investigating. It is not a witch hunt and they are not going after someone with minor disabilities. I was told on my first cilvilian physical not to report minor military stuff and I never have. The FAA has always had access to VA Files and this is nothing new. |

They are going after 100% PTSD /100% Sleep Apnea /100% Total Disabilities etc/ Not the 10-50% guys with minor non disqualifiing issues. Don't self report a 10% Titinitus claim |

The problem is with the abuse of the system. Yes, You served your country, no you don't get to abuse a system to make more money.
If you have legit disabilities then fine, but most of what happens in the military and other state and federal governments is just plain fraud.
It's a way to defraud the tax payer out of money so you can live a better life at the expense of others.
So lets say you served 20 years and got out with 2500hrs, yah i know that is asking a lot. When you leave you find the right doc to make up some of these disabilities to seem worse so you get more money. The you lie on another federal form to defraud the government now to get a good high paying job, and now you are living off two income. Man, I did good.
Expect the truth is you are a thief, no different than any other common criminal.
Period.

when you leave service you claim whatever disabilities you have. The VA investigates and award what they consider justified. When you get your FAA physical you fill out the form truthfully.
It's just that simple. |

During your exit medical (whether ETSing or retiring) they 1st- look at your record and decide if you warrant something THEY think is a disability based on if it occurred during your military service and 2nd- ask you if YOU think you have anything that should be looked into whether you received treatment for it or not.
The second reason is what some may call BS as people then moan and ache and say they have this or that but then it's on the military to investigate (and they DO perform whatever evaluation to see if it's legit; x-rays, sleep study, refer to specialist etc.). They don't just hand out disability ratings like candy.
It's not as corrupt a system as you think but are there vets who game the system to cheat/steal? Of course there are. |

don't want to steal from the taxpayer huh? what about all those bombs dropped in the middle east that would pay for every veteran to get 100% pay. A single hellfire could pay for 3 veterans. a random goatlover in his mudhut was worth dropping $150k on but you can't pay the dude that did it $40k? |

Well I guess with that logic, it's totally cool.

It started on the fixed wing side. There was an accident with a pilot that was receiving compensation for disability that was a grounding condition, didn't tell the AME and had a "valid" medical certificate. Didn't take them much searching to find a bunch of others.
They really only care about grounding conditions, but want to assess what is grounding for themselves. |

It's amazing how many pilots claim and now receive 100 percent from the VA. Then you have these so called advocates wanting to assist you for a piece of the action.
Enjoy being a ground pounder.
