AMC provided one for me years ago and I was impressed. Still an SPH but better than the older versions that are out there. If you are an SPH fan this is a great option. |

HEAVY!!! Heavy as a military ballistic helmet. Unbelievable in the year 2023... so many lighter material options out there nowadays.
The clickable nape strap thing eventually fails on most helmets, so it's all cool at first but disappointing in the long run.
Has the nice modern memory foam liner now.
The visor tracks and visors don't match OEM fit so depending on the helmet they sometimes don't slide smooth like a 56P or go down one notch too far down or up. Just don't work as well as a 56P.
Beware, AMC had a batch with wrong ohm cable. When plugged in, crew/passengers were quiet and radio would be screaming loud. Changing master volume on ICS box (behind the panel only mx can get to) helped some but then crew was still way too quiet and it messed up other pilots with helmets that didn't have the problem.
Only way to solve it was wear earplugs WITH your helmet (which should be unnecessary nowadays depending on your airframe) or add one of the 12" dongles that has a volume adjuster. Another base I worked at had the dongle and it completely solved the issue.
Seemed like a limited batch problem from Paraclete so I wouldn't say this was a widespread problem. |

Unfortunately, no.
Tried switching out the speakers in the ear cups and no change. Was definitely the cable. Bunch of guys in my Indoc class had same issue (Bell 407 and EC130/A-Star).
Emailed Paraclete's customer service twice and they never responded.
Only solution was new helmet or the volume adjustment extension/dongle.
Again, may have been an isolated incident but just wanted to as least share since you asked a out Paraclete. |
